"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see." ~John Burroughs

What is the purpose of art?
We are children of The Creator, and as such, God gave us the urge to create.
All of life creates - all of creation creates! Look at chemistry and the glorious interaction of elements. Even little bugs build themselves homes. Life is everywhere, and it is stronger than anything, and it always - always - builds, reproduces, creates.
God rejoicingly makes a creature universe that bursts forth with created newness at every intersection.
God loves us so much that He allows us to share and actively participate in His Creating.
As with all, the urge toward art can be expressed as sacred or profane. We can choose to participate in holiness or in narcissism, in innocence or in arrogance.
But do you notice that we cannot override the beautiful urge itself: the question is not in whether we respond, but only in how. A response is required. we must answer.
Our art is a part of the answer we give.
God bless you all this Sunday,
Tina
